RevolutionSF Remembers Ossie Davis

Veteran actor and political activist Ossie Davis has died.

He was a featured speaker at the funerals of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X. He and actress wife Ruby Dee were married for 56 years.

He has had featured roles in many Spike Lee movies, and on TV's "Evening Shade."

He had a number of genre roles, including JFK in the Bruce Campbell film "Bubba Ho-Tep." He was in the miniseries based on Anne Rice's "Feast of All Saints" and Stephen King's "The Stand."

He was the voice of Yar in "Dinosaur." He was in the TV movies "The Ghosts of Christmas Eve," "The Soul Collector," and "The Android Affair."

He appeared in the remake of "Doctor Doolittle" and "Ripper." He was in an episode of "Night Gallery" in 1969.
