David Duchovny is awesome like the Lone Gunmen, but this idea leaves me as queasy as the inbred redneck zombies' mama.
He says he expects the go-ahead this very week (as I write this, the last week of March 2007) on a new X-Files theatrical movie.
If you read this in 2009 and haven't yet seen the movie, you'll know the result of those expectations.
He tells IESB.net that it centers around Scully and Mulder, and it's more supernatural horror.
At this point, I'd rather see Duchovny in new Larry Sanders Show. Or even Zoolander, in which Duchovny said, ""Male models have been assassinating world leaders for over 200 years. Abe Lincoln wanted to abolish slavery, right? Well, who do you think made the silk stockings and powdered wigs worn by our early leaders?
Duchovny says, "No, no, no, it's just going to be the core." in relation to a return for Robert Patrick, who played John Damn Doggett, Ass Kicker of the Unnatural.
The core as in, maybe, the dead Lone Gunmen? Counteract the bad storytelling, Duchovny! Are you gonna cowboy up, or just get disintegrated by the starlight people?
