So we already knew there's more Futurama in the works. And that is wonderful.
The first one is set for DVD: Bender's Big Score can be bought November 27, 2007. Finally, a reason to give thanks.
The rest of the DVD titles, as reported on Can't Get Enough
Futurama are Beast With A Billion Backs, Bender's Game, and Into the Wild Green Yonder.
In an interview, producer Rich Moore says new fans will like the new DVD as much as people who like the old stuff. I say, who needs new fans, except to give money to stuff that we like, so they keep making it. So welcome, new Futurama fans!
Here's my thing about the Futurama. I didn't dig it at first, but then I did. The difference between it and The Simpsons is at the end of Simpsons, each episode has to come back to them being a family and loving each other and stuff. On Futurama at the end of each show, they're all miserable; usually moreso.
Now for the loot that I must buy: Zoidberg figure. Zoidberg = roolz. It also comes with Fry, but whatever. Whenever those things are buyable, I will have to do it. As long as they at least move slightly. Not like those MacFarlane Simpsons toys, who just sit there, staring at me.
Just dolls, you say? I say three-dimensional representations of my joy.
The best part, however, is that if you buy them all, which I must, they contain pieces to construct the Robot Devil, who said, "Your lyrics lack subtlety! You can't just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!"
It's good when cartoons that were funny years ago make new ones. Unless they do like Bugs Bunny and add a mouse that's offensive to Hispanics and runners. Or like Tom and Jerry, where the murderous rivals became buddies. It just wasn't right.
