Surprise! Fox canceled the American version of Torchwood they were working on.
I predicted that here. But predicting Fox will cancel a sci-fi show is a sucker bet. It's like predicting the sun will come out tomorrow, unless it is also canceled by Fox.
The BBC producers say they may yet do an American version, but not with Fox. The way they word it is adorable. They say Fox and the BBC "have mutually agreed not to progress together."
I admire Fox here, like the mongoose admires the cobra. They have canceling a show down to an art.
They convinced the BBC that it was a "mutual" decision.
They have canceled plenty of shows after one season, after three episodes, and after one episode. But now they topped themselves. This one was canceled before they made any episodes at all.
They constantly try to better themselves. For that I applaud Fox. Sci-fi shows really need to step their game up. Another option: Go to any of the other 7,000 networks besides Fox.
