Sci Fi Dads : Dr. Venture, The Phantom, Donkey Kong
Dads in sci-fi stuff provide positive examples and sterling advice, when they're not out beating up super-villains or secretly being them.
9. Sandman, father of sick kid, Spider-Man 3 Sandman stole things, which some people call "illegal," to help his sick child. Then he got sandy powers and fought Spider-Man. We can assume that doctors spent his bags of stolen money on making a cure. We assume that because Sandman was busy fighting Spidey and Eric from that 70s Show and never mentioned it again.
8. Cheech, father of Hurley, Lost It's obvious that Cheech is a good dad to Hurley. it's obvious because if he loves Hurley even half as much as he and Chong love smoking pot, then he's the best dad ever.
7. Mulder, father of William, X-Files No greater love has a father for his child than to abandon the mom during her pregnancy, then show up when the baby comes, then leave again and not come back even when the mom gives the child up for adoption because the boy's telekinesis made clean-up time kind of a hassle.
5. Arthur Petrelli, father of Peter and Nathan Petrelli Sometimes dads fail, but that helps them relate to their kids. In Arthur's case, he failed to kill his children. He tried to wack Hiro, too. That's worth an extra pair of socks on Father's Day right there.
5. The Phantom, father of the next Phantom The Phantom fights pirates. He has a dog and a horse and lives in a cave. That is awesome. He keeps safe from the jungle sun where it's 130 degrees in the shade by wearing a full-body long-sleeve purple uniform. And he makes sure people don't stop believin' The Ghost Who Walks is immortal, by passing pass along the secrets of Skull Cave to the child. The first secret is is how to get a lady to come back to your place when it's called Skull Cave.
4. John Winchester, father of Sam and Dean, Supernatural He took his kids out monster hunting after a demon roasted their mom. And not the fun way with dirty insults by comedians. Then he bought them a sweet black 1967 Impala, then made a deal with a demon to save them and got dragged off into infernal torment. Lesser dads just take their kids to concerts.
3. Dr. Rusty Venture, father of Hank and Dean Venture Kids need to learn boundaries. But like many dads, Dr. Venture is lax in the discipline area. So the boys frequently die. But Doc Venture fires up new clones of them every time, because kids need to learn that actions resulting in hideous death have consequences.
2. Donkey Kong, father of Donkey Kong Jr. When you're a great father, your kids will follow you anywhere. Even up rows of vines while a plumber drops robot trap-monsters at him.
1. Odin, father of Thor and Loki A parenting expert would say dads should not bribe their kids' love with gifts. But Odin says thee nay. For he lives in Asgard, where they drink and fight and drink and fight and fight and drink and fight. He gave his boy Thor a magic hammer. It's good for smiting. Odin follows no human rule.
