Trailer Probe reviews nerd-related movie trailers. Geek explosion content is the good parts, dork disengagement level is the bad parts. Geek parts per billion is the total quality rating, one billion being the super-nerdiest.
Geek explosion content:
The main event tonight IS PAIN!"
That should be the main event every night.
Wow! Those robots are shiny and colorful. Dig the sweet paint jobs on the chassis.
Some negative nellies grouse that this movie looks like Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots. What's the problem? Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots was awesome.
Dork disengagement level: Hugh Jackman is not playing Wolverine in this. To get us to watch it anyway, they put in robots.
The movie is about robots who box so people don't have to. It's based on the Richard Matheson story, "Steel," from Twilight Zone.
But that did not have Wolverine in it, and the robots were not shiny or colorful or super neato.
I hope the movie is not about how the robots have feelings. The Matheson story is about robots with feelings. I do not want to see robots have feelings. The trailer says nothing about feelings. There better not be feelings.
Geek parts per billion: 700,000.
