Trailer Probe grades nerd related movie trailers on the good parts (geek explosion content) and the bad parts (dork disengagement level). The final grade is in geek parts per billion; one billion geek parts is the most awesome.
Dork disengagement level:
Bad German accents are the hallmark of both comic books and movies set in the 1940s. This one has both!
I really want R. Lee Ermey to be in the boot camp scene. He is not, and that makes me sad.
Sure, this is all very interesting, but I don't see what the big deal --
Geek explosion content: HOLY NERD, THERE'S DUM-DUM DUGAN.
Some viewers may not know Dum Dum Dugan and other old-school Marvel guys. I weep for them.
This looks like a shot for shot live remake of Cap's comic book origin in the lab where he gets juiced up with the Super Soldier serum.
Seeing a dude in the Cap suit walking around on a movie is so neat. I've seen it before, and then again in 1991. But this time it looks like I will enjoy it in a less sarcastic way.
The shield spot at the end is nifty, because of what it did not show. It did not show the red, white, and blue shield. That makes me want to see that shield more. Right now. Respect to you, trailer.
Movie magic must have made actor Chris Evans look like scrawny pre-Cap Steve Rogers. Or he really cut way back on the doughnuts.
Is that Captain America punching a guy from outside a submarine? I'll have to watch this about 18 more times to be sure.
Geek parts per billion: 900,000.
