The new Doctor on Doctor Who is Peter Capaldi. The official news is at the link, if you're into that sort of thing.
Right here is the RevSF news story from when Matt Smith got the job, so many, many years ago (in 2008.)
Congratulations are in order to me, because in that story, I predicted, "Next time, it could be another old white man instead of another young white man."
BOOM. Nailed it.
In the movie World War Z, he played a doctor for the World Health Organization. That's right. A doctor for WHO. What in the world is going on here? What did Brad Pitt know and when did he know it?
The new guy starts next season if he makes it through the traditional ritual hazing of the new Doctor, which is referred to as "Pink Belly."
According to Who continuity, that leaves only one regeneration until the Doctor drops dead for the last time. Hot dang! We'll finally be rid of him! Good riddance, awesome TV character that's lasted 50 years! Surely there is no way on a sci-fi show about time travel that they can weasel out of this.
