Rebooting goes beyond absurd:

Rumors of a rebooting of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Isn't the point of a reboot that a property has been so overdone that no one knows how to take it any further?

There's only been one movie so far. Confused

The article suggest two reasons: One, because Jolie & Pitt are likely to break up before they could finish a sequel; two (and more likely), that Jolie & Pitt are just too darned expensive.

In any case, the first movie was a boring explosives-fest of the kind that gives Hollywood a bad name for being all about showcasing overhyped stars and blowing stuff up, and, honestly, who would really want a sequel to that? What would it be, anyway? Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Their Eighteen Shadily Adopted African Babies?

I really liked the movie. It was pretty damn funny, and while some of the action was unbelievable, it looked cool.

But a reboot would suggest that the next movie is going to be the same thing done again, for no purpose other than to cash in. A better idea would be to have John and Jane try to play matchmaker for Vince Vaughn's character, the result of which would be the ensuing of chaos.

Since when did married characters have to be played by married couples?

My reference is to the fact that when Brad and Angelina did this movie they were not together. Brad was married to Jen at the time.

But Angie has since admitted that it was on this movie that the two started their affair that broke apart Brad and Jen and brought us to Brangelina.

So I want to know what hunky young married actor is going to through a leg over with their sexy co-star, thereby destroying their marriage.

Supposedly one of the reasons they're not continuing with Pitt and Jolie as the stars is that the two are breaking up.

Jesus. It hasn't even been a decade yet.

What's next? An Avatar remake by July?
