Francis "Face" Thompson
The son of Frederick Thompson, a clerk at a large ranch, and
his Cherokee wife Sarah. Francis was the youngest of nine
children, but only two of his siblings survive, his 25-year
old brother Samuel and his 20-year-old sister Martha. Francis
gets along well with Samuel and is devoted to his sister,
but he always hated his abusive father. By age 16 he had enough.
He stole a pile of money and valuables that his father had
embezzled out of the ranch over the years—including
his father's prize possession, a gold-plated, pearl-handled
Colt Peacemaker. His father caught him and, infuriated, pulled
a pistol. Francis and Frederick Thompson traded shots but
neither was hurt, and Francis got away. He headed west on
the first stagecoach he found. Deceased.
